A TEENAGER FROM ABBEVILLE WAS SHOT AND KILLED LATE SUNDAY NIGHT IN LAFAYETTE. AT AROUND ELEVEN-FORTY-FIVE, LAFAYETTE POLICE RESPONDED TO REPORTS OF A SHOOTING IN THE ONE HUNDRED BLOCK OF VAUCLUSE DRIVE AND FOUND THE VICTIM, EIGHTEEN-YEAR-OLD JOSHUA COBB. PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER KEN HANDY SAYS AN ALTERCATION BETWEEN TWO PEOPLE LED TO THE SHOOTING. NO ARRESTS HAVE BEEN MADE AND THE INVESTIGATION IS UNDERWAY.

A LOOSE PIT BULL BIT A FIVE-YEAR-OLD CHILD MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE FACE, NECK AND HEAD. THE CHILD WAS AIRLIFTED TO A HOSPITAL WHERE HE IS IN STABLE CONDITION. THE DOG WAS DESTROYED AFTER IT BECAME AGGRESSIVE WITH DEPUTIES WHO WERE ON THE SCENE OF THE ATTACK.
