THE GROUP SAYS THE FAMILY OF GOODIE ASKED FOR THEIR HELP AND THEY HAVE SET A TENTATIVE START DATE FOR TODAY. VILLAGE THREE-THREE-SEVEN ISSUED A NEWS RELEASE SAYING BLACK WOMEN ARE GOING MISSING IN AMERICA AT AN ALARMINGLY DISPROPORTIONATE RATE AND ELLA’S DISAPPEARANCE NEED TO BE HIGHLIGHTED TO BRING HER HOME SAFE. SCOTT POLICE HAVE PARTNERED WITH THE F-B-I AND THE UNITED STATES MARSHAL SERVICE IN THE SEARCH FOR GOODIE.
A MAN SUFFERED A GUNSHOT WOUND LATE SUNDAY IN JENNINGS. POLICE CHIEF DANNY SEMMES SAYS THERE WAS A POSSIBLE GUNFIGHT BETWEEN GROUPS OF PEOPLE IN THE THIRTEEN HUNDRED BLOCK OF WEST STREET. THE VICTIM WAS OUTSIDE ABOUT A BLOCK AWAY AND WAS HIT IN THE CHIN WITH A BULLET FRAGMENT. THE VICTIM WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL WITH NON-LIFE-THREATENING WOUNDS.
Drought conditions have continued to worsen across south Louisiana. Rain and thunderstorms storms expected over the next seven days could ease drought conditions. The U.S. Drought Monitor released Thursday shows extreme drought conditions in parts of southern Louisiana, northeast Louisiana and a portion of southwest Mississippi.

POLICE ARE FOLLOWING LEADS AND ARE EXPECTED TO RELEASE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TODAY.
THE LAFAYETTE PARISH SHERIFF’S OFFICE BUSTED AN ALLEGED DRUG DEALER AFTER SEARCHING A HOME FRIDAY MORNING IN THE ONE HUNDRED BLOCK OF KRIS DRIVE. NARCOTICS AGENTS SEIZED MULTIPLE ILLEGAL NARCOTICS. FORTY-TWO-YEAR-OLD RICKY OLIVIER OF LAFAYETTE WAS ARRESTED. HE FACES NUMEROUS CHARGES INCLUDING THREE COUNTS OF POSSESSION WITH THE INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE SCHEDULE ONE CONTROLLED DANGEROUS SUBSTANCES.
THE THEFT OF A PURSE DIDN’T JUST MEAN ONLY THE LOSS OF CASH, CREDIT CARDS AND I-D FOR A SULPHUR WOMAN. THE ASHES OF HER DECEASED SON IN A GLASS JAR WAS IN THE PURSE AS WELL. SULPHUR POLICE FOUND THE SUSPECT WHO ALLEGEDLY STOLE A BLACK COACH PURSE IN A WALMART PARKING LOT YESTERDAY AFTERNOON. THE SUSPECT TOLD POLICE HE PUT THE PURSE IN A WALMART BAG AND THREW IT IN A DUMPSTER, CONCEALING IT WITH A TRASH BAG. SULPHUR POLICE HAVE BEEN SEARCHING DUMPSTERS IN THE AREA, BUT HAVE NOT FOUND IT.

HARRY MAY TELLS KLFY TV THAT HE’S FOUND PARTS OF MACHINERY THAT DATES BACK SEVENTY-FIVE TO ONE HUNDRED YEARS AGO, AS WELL AS THE REMAINS OF WHEN THE CITY WAS DOING THE INFRASTRUCTURE FOR THE DRAINAGE SYSTEM. MAY SAYS HE WOULD LIKE TO DONATE THE ARTIFACTS TO A UNIVERSITY OR A MUSEUM. HE SAYS IF THERE ARE ANY PROFITS FROM THE ITEMS, HE WOULD DONATE THEM TO A WOMAN’S SHELTER.
