Police Memorial Service 5/14
Police Memorial Service to be Held on Thursday May 14 at the Crowley Pavilion
On Thursday May 14 at 5:30 p.m., a Memorial Service will be held at the Crowley
Pavilion (11 North Parkerson Avenue near the Railroad Tracks) to remember and honor Acadia Parish law enforcement officers who gave their lives in the line of duty.
Participating in the ceremony will be officers from the Acadia Parish Sheriff Office, Crowley Police Department, Rayne Police Department, and Church Point Police Department.
Reverend Richard Newman, Jr., Pastor, New Life Assembly of God Church, Marksville, will deliver a message. He is the surviving son of Lieutenant Richard Newman, Sr. who was killed in the line of duty in 1993.
The public is encouraged to attend this ceremony. A reception will follow.
Fallen officers include: Crowley Patrolman Ezra Foreman, Crowley Patrolman Anthony Suire, Crowley Lieutenant Richard Newman, Sr., Crowley Detective Byron Romero, and Crowley K9 Roscoe, Rayne Marshal A.V. Lyons, Rayne Police Officer Donnie Ousse, Sr., Rayne Police Officer, Albert Guidry, and Rayne Lieutenant Allen “Noochie” Credeur, Church Point Police Chief Wilburt Landry, Church Point Patrolman Burleigh Cormier, and Church Point Captain Kevin P. Trahan, as well as Acadia Parish Deputy Sheriff Correctional Officer Lester Threatts, and Louisiana State Police Sergeant Tracy Morgan.
