THE CITY OF OAKDALE’S BUDGET WILL UNDERGO MAJOR CUTS DUE TO A TAX MEASURE NOT BEING RENEWED AS A RESULT OF IT NOT BEING PUT BEFORE VOTERS. SEVERAL CITY OFFICIALS TOLD KPLC TV IT WAS UNCLEAR WHEN THE TAX SHOULD HAVE BEEN RENEWED AND CLAIM THE PROBLEMS DATE BACK TO THE PRIOR ADMINISTRATION. THE COUNCIL WILL DISCUSS A TAX RENEWAL TO BE PUT BEFORE VOTERS AT THEIR JULY THIRD MEETING.
A CROWLEY MAN WAS KILLED THURSDAY IN A HEAD-ON COLLISION ON HIGHWAY THIRTEEN NEAR AIRPORT ROAD. STATE POLICE SAY SIXTY-YEAR-OLD RODERICK BOULLION WAS DRIVING NORTH IN A MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS WHEN HE VEERED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND COLLIDED WITH AN EIGHTEEN-WHEELER. BOULLION DIED AT THE SCENE EVEN THOUGH HE WAS PROPERLY RESTRAINED. THE DRIVER OF THE TRUCK WAS UNINJURED AND SHOWED NO SIGNS OF IMPAIRMENT.
