Sanctity of Life 2020

 

On Jan. 22, 1984, President Ronald Reagan designated the third Sunday of January as National Sanctity of Human Life Day. Churches and pastors utilize this day to raise awareness about what the Bible teaches about the sacred gift of human life, how life is under attack, and what the church can do protect the sanctity of life.

Sanctity of Human life Sunday 2020 commemorates 47 years since the January 22, 1973 Roe v. Wade U.S. Supreme Court  decision that legalized abortion in our country.

Baton Rouge – Sat. Jan. 25thThe La. Life March South at The La. State Capitol from 10am-12 Noon in Baton Rouge @ 900 North 3rd St.

 

Veterans Memorial Park , Lakeshore Drive, Lake Charles, LA 70601-January 22nd 6 – 8 pm.

 

Diocese of Lafayette Diocesan Pro-Life Rally and March, Saturday, Jan. 18, 9 – 11:30 a.m. at Parc International, 200 Garfield St., Lafayette. The rally will begin at 9 a.m., and at 10:45 a.m. the march will be through Lafayette to the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. There, a prayer service, including adoration and benediction, will take place inside the Cathedral. The walk will then return back to Parc International with a stop to pray at the federal courthouse.

 

 St Joseph Catholic Church and St. Louis Chapel march in Parks, Sunday, Jan. 19. The march begins at 11:15 am, immediately after the 10 a.m. Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at St. Joseph and proceeds to St. Louis Church and parish center, where a meal will be shared. The distance is approximately 0.7 mile and should take about 20 minutes, during which a rosary for life will be prayed. All are welcome, please join us to defend the unborn. St. Landry Right to Life Walk, Saturday, Jan. 25, in Opelousas. Program begins at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church, followed by the march that concludes with blessings and refreshments at Holy Ghost Catholic Church Parish Life Center. Ville Platte Pro Life Walk, Sunday, Jan. 26. Begins around noon after 10:30 a.m. Mass at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Church and proceeds to Sacred Heart Church with a guest speaker to follow. Transportation will be provided back to Our Lady

Slidell Life Walk Where: Beginning at the Pregnancy Help Center parking lot (550 Gause Blvd) then walking down Gause Blvd to Robert Blvd to Tiger Drive. Turn around and return to the P.H.C. Avoyelles Pro-Life March, Saturday, Jan. 18 at 9 a.m.  The march will start in the parking lot of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marksville and travel to the front steps of the Marksville courthouse. Prayers will be offered by various persons from the community interspersed by songs of faith and patriotism. The march will then continue to St. Joseph Church Hall next across the street from St. Joseph Church where it will end with a small reception in the hall. All persons are welcome to participate in the march to show their support for the sanctity of life. Sponsored by Avoyelles Right to Life.
