LAST YEAR, THE APPEALS COURT REINSTATED THE MURDER CONVICTION AND PERKINS WAS SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON. THE APPEALS COURT DENIED A MOTION BY PERKINS ATTORNEY THAT THE SENTENCE WAS EXCESSIVE AND, IN FACT, FOUND IT WAS ILLEGALLY LENIENT BECAUSE HE WAS NOT SENTENCED TO HARD LABOR.
