Fill In The Blanks
There are so many things that happen in life that we don’t understand. We are left with questions and empty blanks. Ever have a need to fill in the blank? Human nature prefers to have any answer rather than an empty space. Often we make assumptions to satisfy the need to fill in the blank. And often, we are left with a wrong answer in the blank, and we treat it as the real deal, the truth.
I am thankful that God gives us peace even when we don’t have all the answers. A lot of energy can be spent trying to figure things out in life, in situations. Bottom line is that sometimes the peace of God is ALL we have to fill in the blanks. We can have peace, even when we don’t have answers.
Isaiah 26 reminds us of God’s peace. He keeps us in PERFECT peace, when we keep our focus on Him. If we focus on the empty blanks, the things that don’t seem to make sense, we will inevitably try to fill in the blanks. So often, we have the blanks filled with what makes sense to our natural mind. We fill the blanks from our reservoir of reasoning. A filled blank does not translate into truth. Isaiah 26 says we have peace if our minds are stayed on the Lord, because we trust Him. There is no doubt that peace and trust are intricately connected. God knows, He sees, He hears…you…me. When we focus on the attributes of our God, it stirs our trust in Him. It reminds us of His faithfulness in times past. It reminds us that He is good, and causes ALL things to work together for our good. That focus and trust moves us into a place of peace.
Today, let God’s peace fill the empty blanks in your life. God's peace- The world didn't give it to us and the world CAN'T take it away!
Amplified-Is 26:3-You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You. 4So trust in the Lord (commit yourself to Him, lean on Him, hope confidently in Him) forever; for the Lord God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages].
KJV-Is 26:3-Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. 4Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
Is 26:12-LORD, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us.
John 16:33(NIV)"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
